1) Select download using the link: http://www.microsoft.com/betaexperience/pd/SQLEXPCTAV2/enus/default.aspx

(if link is not available downloading it is always possible to download SQL Server Express via Microsoft’s SQL Server portal http://www.microsoft.com/sqlserver)

There are 3 alternatives for SQL Server 2012 Express (available both for 32- and 64- bit operating systems):

A) If you have quick Internet connection - select “Express with Advanced Services” ( size of download is about 1,3 GB). This installation contains database engine with all the functionality necessary for the Facilia database, advanced functionality (free text search and reporting) and SQL Server Management Studio. Advanced functionality is not used in the Facilia database at the moment, but can be useful to avoid re-installation of SQL Server in the case of the future extensions of the Facilia database. SQL Server Management Studio is useful tool to check database (following our instructions) if you will contact us with questions.

B) In the case of slower, but stable connection - select “Express with Tools” (size of downalod is about 600 MB). This installation contains database engine with all the functionality necessary for the Facilia database and SQL Server Management Studio.

C) In the case of slow or unstable Internet connection - select “Express (Database only)” (size of download is about 130 MB). This installation contains only database engine with all the functionality necessary for the Facilia database. If necessary you will be able to install SQL Server Management Studio later.

Note that you may select non-English version of installation.

2)Click Download button and wait until downloading will be finished

Download SQL Express with Management Tools:

1) Navigate to link http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=23650 and click Continue

(If this link does not available search for SQL Server 2008 R2 Express download on http://www.microsoft.com)

2) Skip registration

3) Select 32- or 64- bit version depending on your operating system

Note that you may select non-English version of installation.

4) Click Download button and wait until downloading will be finished

Check requirements of SQL Server 2012 Express at

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143506.aspx or SQL Server 2008 R2 at

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143506(v=sql.105).aspx and select suitable edition.
