Tutorial 5 - Packaging the Sub-systems

3/5

The models are already defined in stand-alone sub-systems, which means that each sub-system can be used as it is or by connecting it to other sub-systems. The problem is that in order to connect them a user must edit the different expressions – which is cumbersome in Ecolego and impossible to do in Ecolego Player.

You will now make sure that the relevant objects are exposed to other sub-systems as model inputs or outputs.

  1. Right-click the Agricultural Land sub-system and select Edit.
  2. Select the Inputs tab.
  3. From the list of available objects, select the depRate block..
  4. Select the Outputs tab.
  5. From the list of available outputs, select the Conc_Air, Conc_Dust, Conc_Soil and Leaching blocks.
  6. Click Ok
  7. Right-click the Concentrations in Food sub-system and select Edit.
  8. In the Inputs page, select Conc_Soil.
  9. In the Outputs page, select Conc_Crops.
  10. Click Ok
  11. Right-click the Doses sub-system and select Edit.
  12. In the Inputs page, select the Conc_Air, Conc_Crop ,Conc_Food and Conc_Soil blocks
  13. In the Outputs page, select the Dose_Total block.
  14. Click Ok
