Values (Parameter database)

The values screen is used to browse the database and to enter new data. The screen allows you to search for parameter instances in the database by using the search controls on the left. When a search result is selected, the table (right) will display all the data available for the selected instance.

Creating instances

In order to create a parameter instance you must have a definition of the parameter (see section XXX). To create a new instance, click the Create instance button.

In the window that appears:

Select a definition from the drop-down list

(Optional) Select tags from the tag drop-down list. You can enter new a new tag by clicking inside of the box.

(Optional) Write comments, add references or attach files

Editing instances

You can change the tags of an instance, or you wish to add comments, references or attachments. Search for the instance, then select it in the search results. Click the Edit instance button, and make the required changes.

Entering data

The right section of the values window shows a table. When an instance is selected in the search results, the table will display all the data given for the instance. If you are just viewing data, you can hide rows that contain no data by clicking the Hide empty rows button.

To enter or change data, select a row in the table and click on the Edit selected value button.

  • Statistics: Enter statistics in the corresponding field. Click on the button next to a field if you wish to write a comment, such as unit conversion information.
Minimum The smallest possible value.
Maximum The biggest possible value.
Mean The mean value.
Std. dev. The standard deviation.
N Number of samples.
Value The deterministic value.
GM Geometric mean.
GSD Geometric standard deviation.
  • PDF (Probability density function): Select a probability density function from the drop-down list. Depending on the distribution, fields will appear for the distribution arguments. All distributions can be truncated using the fields Lower trunc and upper trunc.
